Research & Practice
At Mercia Learning Alliance we believe teachers and school staff should be intellectually and professionally curious, and engage in continuous improvement. To this end, staff are expected to keep abreast and seek out current educational research, cognitive science and best practice where this is rigorous, valid and robust.
An example of how we work can be seen in the trust's current development of a curriculum framework. This is centred around educational research and school best practice. Staff are encouraged to study relevant research; and training is delivered through exceptionally high quality CPD, such as the annual Mercia Education Conference.
The CPD that we offer at all stages of a teacher's career is evidence informed and reflects best practice.
In addition, we also offer school to school support to help schools adopt some of the innovative practice our research has led us towards. See the school to school support page.
