Alongside our students, our staff are our greatest asset. As such we are deeply committed to recruiting, developing, retaining and caring for our exceptionally talented and committed staff teams. This commitment is enshrined in the Mercia Pledge which is designed to ensure that our staff get the very best professional experience on offer anywhere. We are committed to deliberate CPD for teachers at all career stages.
Our aim as a teacher training provider is to take someone from TA all the way up to senior leadership, and beyond, constantly supporting them throughout their career in Mercia Learning Trust.
Our Trust schools are constantly exploring how to better develop their practise. The culture in our schools is open and sharing best practise is common; this is particularly the case regarding teaching quality where staff receive regular feedback about their practise through a coaching conversation, they have opportunities to observe each other and have whole stuff training that supports common improvement themes. Staff also have opportunities to work with staff across the Trust and to visit other schools.
At Mercia Learning Trust we do all we can to support, develop and retain you within a culture that is exciting, demanding and exceptionally rewarding. We do this through regular informal career conversations, following which plans for career development are put in place. Given the scale of the Trust, staff have far greater opportunities to progress in their career as opportunities arise.
